I was approached to do a series of graphics for the production of the annual Sadie Hawkins Cabaret with the VCU Shafer Alliance Laboratory Theatre (SALT) on commission. The directors had created a cabaret featuring songs through time, they wanted recognizable old fashioned cabaret style with an elegant feeling. The performers were wearing black so I kept the figure in black, and going along with the theme of speakeasies and the glamorous mystery of it all the semi-disguised message urges people to go, if they're looking closer.
